Privacy notice

How True North Taekwondo Co-operative Ltd. (TNT) handles information shared through this website and program registration.

Information we collect and why

When you contact TNT, we receive your name, email address, optional telephone number, inquiry type, and message so we can respond and assist you. Please provide only information needed for your inquiry.

Registration information is collected through our external Stelld forms for participant registration, program administration, safety and emergency response, communication, fee administration, insurance, and registration with applicable sport governing bodies, including Saskatchewan WT Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo Canada. The registration form explains the information requested and the applicable acknowledgements and consent choices.

Access and sharing

TNT limits access to personal information to individuals who require it for their authorized responsibilities. Information will not be sold or used for unrelated marketing purposes. Some registration information may be disclosed to applicable provincial or national sport organizations as required for affiliation, insurance, competition, or participant registration.

Website and external services

This website is hosted on Vercel. General contact messages are processed by Formspree for delivery to TNT. Program registration takes place on Stelld, not in this website’s CMS or GitHub repository. These services process information according to their own terms and privacy practices; this notice does not promise a particular storage location or retention period for those services.

Links to social networks, maps, and external reporting services take you to services outside TNT’s website. Review the relevant service’s privacy information before sharing personal information. The public website does not embed social-media feeds or load optional analytics or advertising trackers. It uses local storage in your browser to remember your privacy preferences, which you can reopen using the footer link.

Sensitive information and Safe Sport

Do not send health-card numbers, detailed medical information, custody documents, or confidential Safe Sport reports through the general contact form. Use the designated registration process for information needed for participation, and contact TNT privately to arrange an appropriate way to discuss sensitive matters.

For Safe Sport concerns, use the support and independent reporting options on our Safe Sport page. You do not need to submit a general inquiry to TNT before seeking independent support.

Photographs and consent

Parent/guardian or student media-consent choices are collected in the registration package. TNT reviews images before public use and will not intentionally publish identifiable photographs of students who have not authorized that use. The gallery is curated; it does not automatically publish photographs from social media. Contact TNT to discuss a consent change, privacy restriction, or concern about an image.

Questions, access, correction, and retention

Questions about TNT’s privacy practices or requests to access or correct personal information may be directed to John Myburgh, TNT’s privacy contact, at (306) 281-5836. You may also contact TNT at truenorthtkd.sk@gmail.com to arrange a privacy discussion; avoid including sensitive details in an initial email.

Contact the privacy contact with questions about how long a particular record is retained, who may access it, or whether it can be deleted. This notice does not establish a fixed retention schedule or promise deletion where records must be retained. TNT will provide further information as its supporting policies are approved.

Land acknowledgement

True North Taekwondo is proud to gather, train, and serve our community in Treaty Six Territory and the homeland of the Métis. We recognize the Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, and Métis peoples who have lived, learned, taught, played, and built community on these lands across generations.

For us, a land acknowledgement is more than a statement about where we train. It is a reminder of how we want to live and serve together. The tenets of Taekwondo—courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit—help guide that responsibility. Courtesy calls us to listen and treat others with respect. Integrity asks us to be honest about our shared history and accountable for our actions. Perseverance reminds us that reconciliation and relationship-building require ongoing effort. Self-control calls us to act thoughtfully and with humility. Indomitable spirit encourages us to stand against exclusion and work toward a community in which everyone has the opportunity to belong.

In the spirit of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action 87–91 on sport and reconciliation, we are committed to listening, learning, building respectful relationships, reducing barriers to participation, and creating a Taekwondo community in which Indigenous participants and families are welcomed, respected, and able to participate fully.
